  • Make your own two-bucket gravity water purification & filtration system in case of emergencies with the PURINIZE® DIY WATER BUCKET KIT.

    This powerful kit will eliminate/reduce 200+ contaminants including industrial and agricultural chemicals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, VOC's, disinfectants, disinfection byproducts, and more, and can be used to purify & filter water from any freshwater source - no pumping, back-logging, harsh purification chemicals, or electricity required. Great for families or groups.

    1 - 0.2-Micron Ceramic Filter

    • WHAT YOU NEED:

      1 - PURINIZE® DIY WATER BUCKET KIT
      1 - 1/2" Drill Bit
      1 - 3/4" Drill Bit
      1 - Drill
      2 - 5-Gallon Buckets with Lids
    • DIRECTIONS:
    1. (Bucket 1) Drill a hole in the bottom center of 1 bucket using the 1/2" drill bit. Also, drill a hole in the center of one of the lids using the 1/2" drill bit.
    2. Place Ceramic Filter on the inside of the drilled bucket and attach from the bottom using the rubber gasket and wingnut. Tighten until slightly snug. (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!)
    3. (Bucket 2) Drill hole in the side of second bucket several inches above the bottom of the bucket using the 3/4" drill bit. Insert water spigot and attach from inside using the rubber gasket and nut provided. Tighten until slightly snug. (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!)
    4. Place lid with a hole drilled into it on top of Bucket 2.
    5. Fill Bucket 1 with water and treat with the proper amount of PURINIZE®. Place Bucket 1 on top of Bucket 2 so that the Ceramic Filter spout fits in the hole of the lid on top of Bucket 2

  • As the Ceramic Filter gets clogged, rinse clean after each use. If the Ceramic Filter is rinsed clean but still shows signs of slow drip rate, then you will have to do a slight surface scrub. Gently scrub the outside of the filter using the green side of a sponge. Never use soap or detergents because they may clog the filter. The Ceramic Filter should be replaced every 1,000 gallons. 

    Flow Rate: You should see a drop rate of 30-60 minutes per gallon of water. Because the filter system relies on gravity, the fuller the top bucket is the faster the drip rate will be. You may drill additional holes and install up to 3 total filters for much faster flow rates. This is not required and will only increase the flow rate of the system.
